Andrea Foggle Plotkin is the founder and principal of AFP Art Consulting, LLC, a Boston-based firm specializing in fine art consulting, personal property appraisal, advising, research, writing, collections management and exhibition curation. An art historian with expertise in paintings, works on paper, sculpture and public art from the 17th century to the present, Andrea also has knowledge of decorative art. Assistance with objects by artists working in styles as varied as Classicism, Realism, Expressionism, Modernism, and Contemporary Art is provided.
Over 30 years of diverse professional experience in the fine arts, including work as an exhibitions curator, contemporary gallery director, published writer, and research consultant for 18 years at the Roy Lichtenstein Foundation, has provided the invaluable skills and knowledge necessary to serve her clients’ varied needs. Andrea holds a Masters of Philosophy in the History of Art from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York; a Bachelor of Art in Art and Architectural History and Theory from Hampshire College; and a Certificate in Art and Antique Appraisal (American Society of Appraisers curriculum) from the Rhode Island School of Design.
